Use Grove to build real connections with people you actually meet in person. Don't use it to harm, harass, or deceive anyone. Everything you share is your responsibility. We built Grove in good faith and ask you to use it the same way.
By downloading or using the Grove app or visiting withgrove.co, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use Grove. These Terms apply to all users of the app and website.
Grove is an iOS application that enables people to connect with others through physical proximity. The app uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity framework to exchange profile information directly between nearby devices, without any internet connection or Grove servers. All data is stored locally on your device.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Grove. By using Grove you represent that you are 13 or older. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use Grove.
Grove allows you to create a profile with your name, photo, bio, and interests, and to share photos, notes, and links with people you connect with in person. You are solely responsible for all content you share through Grove.
You agree not to use Grove to:
Grove is designed to be used with the consent of both parties. When you initiate a tap exchange with another Grove user, both devices participate voluntarily in the exchange. You should only initiate exchanges with people who are aware they are connecting with you through Grove.
Do not use Grove to collect information about people without their knowledge or consent.
The Grove app, its design, and all associated content created by us are owned by Grove and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Grove without our written permission.
You retain ownership of all content you create and share through Grove. By sharing content with another Grove user via a proximity exchange, you grant that user a personal, non-commercial license to store and view that content on their device.
Grove is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that Grove will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Because Grove operates entirely on-device and peer-to-peer, we have no ability to monitor, control, or be responsible for content exchanged between users. You use Grove at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grove shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Grove, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of Grove shall not exceed $100.
Grove is distributed through the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple's terms and policies. The Grove website uses Formspree for waitlist management and Cloudflare for hosting. These services have their own terms and privacy policies which govern their use.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify waitlist subscribers of material changes by email. Your continued use of Grove after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of San Mateo County, California.
